![]() While the robust cast does have some familiar faces, namely Kiernan Shipka, you've likely seen many of the stars before. ![]() Like To All the Boys I've Loved Before and Set It Up before it, we immediately became obsessed with all things Let It Snow as soon as we finished watching it.and then watching it again. (Confused? Just watch the movie and bask in the absurdity of her character, helpfully named Tin Foil Woman.) It's like Love Actually except set in the sleepy Midwest, featuring a cast of some of young Hollywood hottest up-and-comers and a dash of Joan Cusack as a tin foil-covered tow truck driver. My favourite of the stories was Maureen Johnson’s, The Jubilee Express. All other Christmas movies waiting to be released in 2019 can go home now because Let It Snow is officially our new holiday obsession.īased on the 2008 novel of the same name by The Fault In Our Stars author John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle, Netflix's latest original movie tells the tale of three adorable and interconnecting love stories in the small town of Laurel, Illinois on Christmas Eve. The common setting in the book, the Waffle House, is so unique and intriguing. Let it Snow by John Green contains three short stories that all intertwine. I really enjoyed the way this one was written and the main character, Jubilee. Her train gets stuck in the storm and she seeks refuge in a stranger’s house. This one is about a girl whose parents are arrested because of a fight over a collectable piece for their elf village. My favourite of the stories was Maureen Johnson’s. In my opinion, that would be the perfect place to be stuck during a snow storm, and it was so entertaining to see everyone’s reactions to the storm. It is so interesting to see how each character ends up stopping there, especially John Green’s interpretation, a race to the restaurant. The original setting that appears in all three of the stories is a Waffle House restaurant. This would be a great sampler if you have not yet read any books by these authors. I enjoyed the contrast in each author’s writing style as I switched stories and being introduced to their own quirky characters. Each story is connected and it is amazing to see familiar characters throughout all three. Let it Snow is a collection of three holiday short stories, but the book honestly seems like one story. Over the next three days one girl takes a risky shortcut with an adorable stranger, three friends set out to win a race to the Waffle House (and the hash brown spoils), and the fate of a teacup pig falls into the hands of a lovesick barista.Ī trio of today's bestselling authors - John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle- brings all the magic of the holidays to life in three hilarious and charming interconnected tales of love, romance, and kisses that will steal your breath away. One brave soul ventures out into the storm from her stranded train and sets off a chain of events that will change quite a few lives. ![]() An ill-timed storm on Christmas Eve buries the residents of Gracetown under multiple feet of snow and causes quite a bit of chaos.
